I was walking through the woods on a warm and sunny day,
Humming little melodies, just wandering my way.
Everything was peaceful, not a single thing absurd,
Then out of nowhere, splat—I got pooped on by a bird.
It looked at me so smug,
Like it had just won a prize.
I couldn’t help but shake my head,
I couldn’t believe my eyes.
A bird pooped on me
I thought that wasn’t fair
It flew around so proud
Like it didn’t have a care
A bird pooped on me
Now I’m laughing through the mess
Bad luck in the trees
Still, I clean up looking fresh
I stood there in the trail with a leaf stuck in my hair,
One shoe in mud, one sleeve in shock, and nobody else there.
I wiped it off and muttered, “Well, that’s how it goes for me,”
Then the same bird circled back like it was checking on me.
It looked at me so smug,
Like it knew my open pain.
I tossed a peanut in its path,
It just took off again.
A bird pooped on me
I thought that wasn’t fair
It flew around so proud
Like it didn’t have a care
A bird pooped on me
Now I’m laughing through the mess
Bad luck in the trees
Still, I clean up looking fresh
Maybe it was fate
Maybe just a joke
Maybe every golden day
Needs a little joke
I’ll remember that bird
Every time I roam
If you see it overhead
Just keep your shoulders low
A bird pooped on me
I thought that wasn’t fair
It flew around so proud
Like it didn’t have a care
A bird pooped on me
Now I’m laughing through the mess
Bad luck in the trees
Still, I clean up looking fresh
A bird pooped on me
That bird gave me a sign
Some days come with stains
And somehow, I’ll be fine
